Two effortless ways to appreciate your staff & team
Just dropping in with this our first blog and what better way of starting then looking at how to show some appreciation to your staff and team in business, big or small.
Let’s be honest - wonderful hard working staff are the true backbone of every organisation & company. Without them, things would quickly spiral out of control and fall from great heights, unless you of course run a small business and have only yourself or family to rely on, in which case I would wholeheartedly promote lots of self love!
Too often, and unintentionally many staff don’t get the recognition they deserve for their achievements, for working tirelessly to make sure things run smoothly so you can be allowed to get on with your important role. When you are busy yourself, worry about paying the next big bill, wages, tax or distracted by the next big important project coming in, its easy to miss staff that are maybe burning out themselves or feeling a bit flat and neglected.
There is so much research around evidencing that people in work who feel appreciated and cared for are happier in their roles, which overall makes for a much more productive and content workplace, win win! however much as I love a good randomised research project do we need posh, wordy bits of literature to tell us what we can work out ourselves as leaders without too much effort?
I look at it like this, think how you would feel, put yourself in others shoes and honestly think what would make you feel good, feel content in work and feel truly appreciated. A thoughtful, caring gift aimed at wellbeing and something indulgent will always bring about a positive response from people, showing you think about them and have made an effort, making them want to be the best in their role, not because they are paid to, not because you buy them gifts, but because they want to to help you and care for you, as you have cared and shown respect for them , it's simple really.
So with that in mind, why not take some time to celebrate their dedication and hard work, take an opportunity to say thank you and show that it doesn't go unnoticed and this is where we can come in!
